Year 10 English
Students are likely to encounter new kinds of texts – hybrids of visual, spoken and written, featuring ethical and global dilemmas, challenging and unpredictable plots. They will be evaluating, comparing and composing increasingly complex writing and performance. It’s a great chance for them to consider their own position in the world as a creator and responder. Dr Samuels and her Education team developed Cluey's unique CENTRE approach, and have created interactive learning programs that map to the curriculum and allow students to work at their own level and pace.
English Tutoring Program Based on the National Curriculum
Based on the Australian National Curriculum for Years 7-10, Cluey’s approach to secondary English focuses on developing students' literacy skills with in-depth studies of Shakespeare and essay structure in the early years, and deeper analysis of different texts and topics in Years 9 and 10. Our personalised approach gives you the opportunity to focus on areas you find challenging and maximise your understanding of each topic.

Sanjana completed her Higher School Certificate in 2020, achieving an ATAR of 94.45, going on to then commence her Bachelor of journalism and international studies. She has experience helping peers and her younger siblings with new concepts in the subjects she has studied. Sanjana likes to maintain a warm and supportive rapport with her students, encouraging them through their struggles. Emmanuelle completed her HSC in 2019 with an outstanding ATAR of 99.55. She thoroughly enjoyed the Humanities subjects at school and had a passion for sharing this with her fellow peers. Emmanuelle is now studying of a Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics and a Bachelor of Arts at the Australian National University, and has previous experience tutoring and teaching students from a variety of backgrounds and learning abilities, focusing on English. Weekly learning through live tutoring sessions, feedback & practice
Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.
Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.
After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.

First 5 Minutes
Establishing the session theme, why are we here?
