Who is the NAPLAN tutoring & test prep for?

NAPLAN is different from regular classwork

Children in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 at ALL schools are required to sit four separate tests based on problem solving and applied learning.

All of our prep programs are designed to be interactive and practical, with worked examples and challenges which get students solving problems and applying concepts (just like in real NAPLAN situations).

Our 1-to-1 programs include NAPLAN modules for either Primary or Secondary and provides all you need to get started, including tutoring sessions from an expert NAPLAN tutor, a simulation NAPLAN test and a subsequent revision of the test results and run through of answers.

How do we prepare for NAPLAN at Cluey?

From January up until the official exam, the tutoring sessions are focused on the preparation for NAPLAN.

NAPLAN Focus: During this period, students and tutors focus on the review, practice, and coverage of key Numeracy and Literacy topics and concepts. NAPLAN-like questions are assigned as practice to complete between sessions.

Free Simulated Test: Two weeks before the official NAPLAN exam, a simulated test is assigned for students to complete independently. It contains a full set of NAPLAN-like questions covering all Numeracy and Literacy concepts.

Test Feedback: The session in the week prior to the official NAPLAN exam is dedicated to feedback and review based on the results of the simulated test. It is also an opportunity for tutors to provide advice and strategies on how to best approach the NAPLAN exam.

Reporting: Session reports, including tutor feedback continue to be provided during the NAPLAN preparation period, allowing for ongoing tracking of progress.

Wiremu holds a Bachelor of Outdoor Education, a Master of Education (P-12) and is currently studying his Master of Teaching (Secondary). He has experience as a Youth Centre Team Leader and teaching primary students as well as special needs students. Wiremu's experience has given him a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by his students in an education setting and how to best help them through these.

Miranda

Miranda is a qualified, accredited Teacher, completing her Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary Education) in 2016. She started as a Casual Relief Teacher in 2017 and taught Year 3 students for 2 years. She also has experience teaching a Year 4 student with Autism. Currently, Miranda teaches Kindergarten. Miranda understands that every child is unique, with specific learning needs and that as an educator it is her role to cater to the diverse learning styles of all children and engage students in learning so they want to become a life-long learner in an ever-changing society. She believes that every child has a right to be part of a safe and positive learning environment.

VIC University Student (Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours))

Chemistry: Senior

Emanuelle (Emma) graduated High School, achieving an ATAR of 96.5, and is now studying her Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Monash University. She has experience tutoring Maths Methods to peers in high school, scoring 19/20 in this subject in her Victorian Certificate of Education. Emma has always wanted to help other students achieve their academic goals, inspired by her tutors in the past and how much their guidance and support have contributed to her accomplishments. She hopes to pass on her acquired knowledge and support with the same patience and understanding her tutors provided her with.

NSW University Student (Bachelor of Actuarial Studies / Science (Advanced Mathematics, Honours))

Samil graduated High School in 2020, achieving an ATAR of 94.15 and then commenced his Bachelor of Actuarial Studies/Science (Advanced Mathematics) (Honours) at The University of New South Wales. Samil's first aim as a Tutor is to help his students achieve academic excellence and to teach them effective tools for future self-study and self-reliance.
