Year 3 English
Students learn about complex language features, varied sentence structures and expand their vocabulary. Over the year they also learn a significant number of new high-frequency sight words and words that need to be decoded phonically, and a range of punctuation conventions, as well as an understanding of how literary devices, illustrations and diagrams make meaning in printed text. They create a range of written texts of their own for various purposes and audiences.

Dr Samuels and her Education team developed Cluey's unique CENTRE approach, and have created interactive learning programs that map to the curriculum and allow students to work at their own level and pace.

Cluey's Primary English learning programs are based on the Australian National Curriculum for K-6 and focus on core literacy skills, including reading and writing techniques in the early years, and grammar and punctuation in the senior years. Amelia is a qualified Teacher, holding her Master of Teaching (Secondary). Prior to graduating, she had 2 years as a School Learning Support Officer, working in a Support Unit with students with a range of disabilities, in an English Intensive Centre with refugees, and in the mainstream setting. Since becoming a Teacher she has worked in an English Intensive Centre teaching English as an Additional Language students and as a mainstream Teacher, working with students with different abilities and disabilities. This has given her experience in differentiating lessons to suit the learning needs of each of her students. Amelia is a patient Tutor with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, helping her to quickly establish relationships with her students.

Chandini completed her Bachelor of Science (Psychology) in 2018 through the University of New South Wales and in 2020 commenced her Bachelor of Education (Primary) through the University of Sydney. Chandini's goal is to help her students by offering high quality lessons that foster a strong tutor-student bond, implementing various pedagogical strategies that elevate her student's confidence in the subject and consequently create positive individuals who strive academically.

Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.
Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.
After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.

First 5 Minutes
Establishing the session theme, why are we here?

During the session
