Year 10 English
Students are likely to encounter new kinds of texts – hybrids of visual, spoken and written, featuring ethical and global dilemmas, challenging and unpredictable plots. They will be evaluating, comparing and composing increasingly complex writing and performance. It’s a great chance for them to consider their own position in the world as a creator and responder. Meet Dr Selina Samuels
Dr Samuels and her Education team developed Cluey's unique CENTRE approach, and have created interactive learning programs that map to the curriculum and allow students to work at their own level and pace.
English Tutoring Program Based on the National Curriculum
Based on the Australian National Curriculum for Years 7-10, Cluey’s approach to secondary English focuses on developing students' literacy skills with in-depth studies of Shakespeare and essay structure in the early years, and deeper analysis of different texts and topics in Years 9 and 10. Our personalised approach gives you the opportunity to focus on areas you find challenging and maximise your understanding of each topic.

Victoria graduated high school with an ATAR of 92.85, going on to study Criminology/Bachelor of Arts. Since 2020 she has been tutoring in English, History and Legal Studies to high school and Victorian Certificate Education level students. Victoria aims to ensure that her students feel safe and confident when engaging in tutoring sessions. She strives to eradicate the power imbalance that students feel with teachers and provide a healthy learning environment.

Nadiesharni completed her Bachelor of Nutrition Science (Scholars Program) in 2020 at Monash University, going on to then commence her Masters of Dietetics. During her time at university she has been a peer mentor, has helped family and friends, primarily in primary subjects and has tutored first year undergrad students in Nutrition. She has also completed a volunteer placement to teach children about food and nutrition. Nadiesharni is excited to share her knowledge and help her students enjoy and excel in their studies.

Emily completed her Bachelor of Science majoring in Human Structure and Function in 2016 and is currently studying Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Melbourne. Weekly learning through live tutoring sessions, feedback & practice
Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.
Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.
After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.

First 5 Minutes
Establishing the session theme, why are we here?
