Year 11 Chemistry

Our Year 11 Chemistry program addresses all relevant syllabus outcomes in the TASC syllabus. Students learn about atomic structure and the periodic table, chemical bonding, intermolecular forces, solubility rules, nomenclature of organic compounds, hydrocarbons and reactions, energy changes in reactions, moles technique and balanced chemical equations, concentration, acids and bases, the pH scale, reactions of acids. A solid understanding of these core concepts is an essential foundation for students to excel in Year 12.

He completed his flexible double degree at the Australian National University, graduating with a Bachelor of Philosophy, Politics and Economics and a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Psychology and minoring in English Literature) in 2020. Mario has been tutoring since 2017 and has tutored students in a wide range of subjects, from Chemistry to Literature. Mario aims to deliver engaging and enjoyable lessons to students of all abilities to help them achieve and exceed their academic goals.

Since 2019 she has been a peer mentor to current Victorian Certificate of Education students. She also has 4 years of private tutoring experience, both online and face to face with students in Primary Mathematics, Science and English and Secondary Biology, Chemistry and Health and Human Development. Shahidah coaches her students through challenging materials with positive reinforcement and encouragement. She is highly passionate in working with children and inspiring them to their full potential.

Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.

Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.

After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.
