Who is the NAPLAN tutoring & test prep for?

NAPLAN is different from regular classwork

Children in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 at ALL schools are required to sit four separate tests over three days in March.

Tests are overseen by the teachers and principal at each school and usually take place in a hall or large classroom.

Although NAPLAN gives parents, teachers and schools an idea of where each individual student is at in their development, it’s mostly used to compare a school’s average with the national average. NAPLAN results are used in planning, and to determine which schools, programs or skills need to be prioritised and scrutinised.

Based on the Australian National Curriculum for Years 7-10, Cluey’s approach to secondary English focuses on developing students' literacy skills with in-depth studies of Shakespeare and essay structure in the early years, and deeper analysis of different texts and topics in Years 9 and 10. Sigourney completed her Year 12 certificate with an ATAR of 98.75. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts/European Studies at the Australian National Universities. Sigourney is a caring and nurturing tutor who is passionate about bringing out the potential in each of her students through discovering what engages and motivates them.

Carolina

NSW University Student (Bachelor of Education (Secondary) / Bachelor of Arts (Mathematics))

English: Primary & Secondary

Carolina completed her Higher School Certificate in 2020, going on to then complete the Australian Catholic University "Step Up Into Teaching" Program. This program covers the theory behind education, the different methods of teaching and understanding the diverse needs of students. She is an online Tutor to Chinese speaking students in High School aged 10-20 years old, and has experience as an English as a Second Language Tutor with Primary and Secondary students. Carolina is dedicated to teaching students English and supporting them to achieve their full potential.

Grace

English: Secondary

Grace was a high-achieving student at school with an ATAR of 99.5 and has since completed a Bachelor of Arts. Grace has experience working with students with diverse learning needs, and understands the need to adapt her tutoring style to suit her students, and develop their literacy skills.

Based on the Australian National Curriculum for Years 7-10, Cluey’s approach to secondary Maths focuses on developing students’ numeracy skills with algebraic techniques and properties of geometrical figures in Years 7 and 8, and functions, indices and data analysis in Years 9 and 10. Our personalised approach gives you the opportunity to focus on areas you find challenging and maximise your understanding of each topic.

Michael is a qualified Teacher, holding his Graduate Diplomas of Education. He spent 10 years working as a digital Technologies Teacher with students in years 9-12 and is currently working as a Casual Relief Teacher. Michael believes that his experience with a range of students has equipped him to understand different methods to communicate topics to his students. He believes in being concise but clear in his explanations when teaching.
