Meet Dr Selina Samuels

Dr Samuels and her Education team developed Cluey's unique CENTRE approach, and have created interactive learning programs that map to the curriculum and allow students to work at their own level and pace.

Maths Tutoring Program Based on the National Curriculum

Based on the Australian National Curriculum for Years 7-10, Cluey’s approach to secondary Maths focuses on developing students’ numeracy skills with algebraic techniques and properties of geometrical figures in Years 7 and 8, and functions, indices and data analysis in Years 9 and 10. Our personalised approach gives you the opportunity to focus on areas you find challenging and maximise your understanding of each topic.

Mahnoor completed her Year 12 certificate with an ATAR of 93.10. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Science University of Melbourne . Mahnoor has previous experience tutoring. She aims to deliver engaging and enjoyable lessons to students of all abilities to help them achieve and exceed their academic goals.

Viraj

NSW University Student (Advanced Physics and Mechanical Engineering)

Mathematics: Secondary

Viraj is currently studying his Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Advanced Science in Physics at The University of New South Wales. Between 2017 and 2019 he did private tutoring with students in years 9-12, mainly in the subject of Mathematics. Viraj believes this experience has helped him to gain responsibility and leadership, guiding students through school work in order for them to achieve excellent results.

Joanna completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Education, English and French in 1989 and her Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) in 2014. She has 13 years' experience as a High School Teacher in English as an Additional Language, English, Drama and French. Additionally, she over 6 years' experience as a Teacher of Literacy and Numeracy to a SEE (Skills or Education and Employment) Youth Class with ages 15 to 24 whose anxiety prevents them from attending mainstream school, helping them to return to school, start a college course or join the workforce. Joanna is a knowledgeable and supportive Tutor who has worked in both the UK and Australia and has experience with high achievers and those who need extra development.

Weekly learning through live tutoring sessions, feedback & practice

Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.

Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.

After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.

First 5 Minutes

Establishing the session theme, why are we here?

During the session
