English Tutoring Program Based on the National Curriculum
Based on the Australian National Curriculum for Years 7-10, Cluey’s approach to secondary English focuses on developing students' literacy skills with in-depth studies of Shakespeare and essay structure in the early years, and deeper analysis of different texts and topics in Years 9 and 10. Our personalised approach gives you the opportunity to focus on areas you find challenging and maximise your understanding of each topic.

Jennifer completed her Year 12 certificate with an ATAR of 98.00. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts/Law at University of New South Wales. She has vast experience in tutoring English. She is passionate about cultivating an enthusiasm for reading and writing in her students. In equipping students with the confidence to analyse and interpret texts, she aims to help strengthen their expression and voice in writing.

Clare completed the Victorian Certificate of Education in 2018, achieving an ATAR of 96.75. She commenced her Bachelor of Science/Arts at Monash University in 2019 and is working as a Casual Relief Teacher with Years 3-7 in Literacy. Clare has a great passion for teaching others and believes that it is important to create a fun environment where students feel safe to make mistakes and ask questions.

Based on the Australian National Curriculum for Years 7-10, Cluey’s approach to secondary Maths focuses on developing students’ numeracy skills with algebraic techniques and properties of geometrical figures in Years 7 and 8, and functions, indices and data analysis in Years 9 and 10. Our personalised approach gives you the opportunity to focus on areas you find challenging and maximise your understanding of each topic.

VIC University Student (Bachelor of Science (Physics and Mathematics Major))
Mathematics: Primary & Secondary
Ben completed his Year 12 certificate in 2019 and is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Science majoring in Physics and Mathematics at La Trobe University. As a volunteering Cub Scouts leader, Ben interacts with and mentors primary aged students and develops basic life skills. Ben enjoys the patterns in Math and endeavours to share his passion with his students to build confidence and knowledge.

Robert is an experienced teacher with a double degree in Arts and Teaching. He has taught generalist middle school subjects to years 5-8 for much of his career (Maths, English, History, Geography, Science, Technology) and has also taught from Prep to Year 8 students in the past. Robert's favourite subjects are Maths, English and Civics (part of HASS). He enjoys camping, playing video games and running in his spare time.

Chemistry: Senior
Nathan is a student at Monash University, studying a double degree of IT and Science with majors in Chemistry and Software Development. He has a very strong knowledge of Maths and Science and aims to help his students develop their learning and meet their educational goals! Nathan also has 8 years of experience volunteering at Newhope Baptist Church with children aged 5 - 18, developing life skills and providing support with school work if needed.

Weekly learning through live tutoring sessions, feedback & practice
Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.
Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.
After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.

First 5 Minutes
Establishing the session theme, why are we here?
- Discuss student’s areas of focus (if first session)
- Review previous session's assigned practice (if subsequent session)
- Set session learning goals
45 Minutes
During the session
- Work through exercises based on the topics and concepts for each learning goal
- Tutor demonstrates, guides and explains concepts
- Work through any challenges
- Students are encouraged to explain their thinking to clarify their comprehension
